Cheche competed at every level of football — amateur, college, and professional — representing Venezuela across its national teams for over a decade, including the 1979 Copa América, and co-captaining its Olympic team at Moscow 1980. In the United States he was a Herman Award finalist, a two-time All-American, and in 1998 became the first Latin American inducted into the Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame. Cheche compitió en todos los niveles del fútbol — amateur, universitario y profesional — representando a Venezuela en todas sus selecciones por más de una década, incluyendo la Copa América de 1979, y siendo co-capitán de su equipo olímpico en Moscú 1980. Later, as an engineer and sports technologist, he became a pioneer of football's digital transformation: Vice President of Technology for the 1994 FIFA World Cup, and the visionary who, in 1994, presented the FIFA.com prototype to João Havelange and Sepp Blatter. Through his company En-Línea, he built the first official internet portals for FIFA, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, and CAF — directing what could be described as football's official digital-transformation channels worldwide. In 2025 he was named one of the 22 Council Members of the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP), and continues to write and speak on Fair Competition as a complement to Fair Play — while leading his latest venture, Dribbli, a sports-technology platform built on his vision to digitize the sporting world and the ideas in the book. Fair Competition describes Cheche Vidal's vision of the pursuit of excellence in sport, offering a revisionist account of the history, etymology, and meaning of sport competition — the foundational associative cell of the modern sports industry, and a modern school of agonism that shapes character and resilience. The book expands on the principles of Fair Play to protect this essential human association, and the industry it generates, for the present and the future. Competición Limpia describe la visión de Cheche Vidal sobre la búsqueda de la excelencia en el deporte, ofreciendo una versión revisionista de la historia, la etimología y el significado de la competición deportiva — la célula asociativa fundadora de la industria deportiva moderna, y una escuela moderna de agonismo que forma carácter y resiliencia. The first edition launched on August 1, 2024, at the Paris Olympic Games, marking the 60th anniversary of the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP) — founded by the IOC, UNESCO, FIFA, and other international federations. The launch coincided with the presentation of the Fair Play Award to Japanese skateboarder Sakura Yosozumi by H.S.H. Prince Albert of Monaco.
